In my companion blog entitled 'Islamic State in the Prophecies of Nostradamus', no less than 5 quatrains could, with reasonable certainty, be assigned to Islamic State. Here below are a further 14 possible Islamic State quatrains.
Rain famine war in Persia will not cease
The faith too great will betray the monarch
By the end in Gaul commence
Secret augur for one to be sparing. 1-70
In 1978, Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah of Iran or 'Persia'. In this context, he began a process of radicalisation, 'The faith too great', that will lead to the creation of Islamic State. Presumably the Shah fell due to 'rain famine war'. The Ayatollah plotted his downfall in Paris hence 'commence' but perhaps 'By the end' refers to further outcomes in France of this radicalisation, hence the Charlie Hebdo massacre outlined in quatrain 1-18 as described in my companion blog entitled 'Charlie Hebdo in the Prophecies of Nostradamus'. If so, then the last line is a warning to not decide to publish cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to further provoke extremist reaction.
After a rest they will travel to Epirus
Great help will come towards Antioch
The black curly haired will strive strongly for the empire
Brazen beard roasted on a spit. 1-74
Antioch is in Syria, while Epirus is in north west Greece. This may be a future prophecy concerning some sort of help for the dreadful Syrian civil war ? Cf 2-96 below, Persia invades Macedonia in north east Greece, which may refer to flight of refugees as an invasion, rather than a military invasion.
The fleet is wrecked near the Adriatic Sea
The earth trembles, pulled into the air and put in earth
Egypt trembles; augment Mahommed
The herald is sent out to call for surrender. 2-86
The first line appears to refer to the boat people, noted in my companion blog entitled 'The boat people, possible quatrains in the Prophecies of Nostradamus'. Line two is a fine description of missile explosions forcing the earth up and then raining down. If so, then perhaps Islamic State fighters, already in Libya, will overwhelm Egypt's secular government, especially as the latter had previously deposed the Muslim Brotherhood.
A burning torch in the sky at night
Near the end and source of the Rosne
Famine, weapon, late the help provided
Persia turns to invade Macedonia. 2-96
'Rosne' is possibly the River Rhone in France and 'A burning torch' may be a missile attack. Like the earlier quatrain 1-74, northern Greece is connected with either Syria and Iran or Persia.
On the fields of Media,Arabia and Armenia
Two great forces three times assembled
Near the banks of the Araxes the establishment
Of great Soliman in earth will fall. 3-31
This is a possible future prophecy of general conflict in Arabia, including Yemen, Armenia in eastern Turkey and Media in north west Iran; all within the reach of Islamic State. The River Araxes, now Aras, flows into the Caspian Sea, where perhaps an important regime will be overcome.
The leader of Persia will fill up great Olchade
A fleet of triremes against Mahometique people
From Parthia and Media and pillage the Cyclades
Rest a long time at great port Ionian. 3-64
The Cyclades Islands are in eastern Greece and Ionia in western Turkey. Again, like 1-74 and 2-96, there appears to be pressure from Middle East conflict impinging on this Greek island region. Parthia is in north east Iran.
People of Rhodes will ask for help
Abandoned by the neglect of their heirs
The Arab empire will assess its course
Its cause revived by the West. 4-39
The Isle of Rhodes lies off south west Turkey and it features in several quatrains in a possible context of Islamic State and more certainly of the current flood of refugees to the Greek islands. Whatever it is that they are denied help for, it clearly involves both the Middle East and the West.
The Arab prince, Mars, Sun, Venus, Lion
Reign of the church by the sea will succumb
Towards Persia very nearly a million men
Bizance, Egypt, true serpent will invade. 5-25
'Towards Persia' implies Iraq and Syria and the 'million men' who invade Egypt and Byzantium (Constantinople) is a distinct possibility in the future. Islamic State currently controls a population of 3 million and has a policy of national conscription, so such a figure is already feasible. The second line may mean that Christians will be wiped out in Syria and Lebanon , which is also possible.
By fire and arms not far from the Black Sea
Will come from Persia to occupy Trebizond
To tremble Phatos, Methelin, the Sun is bright
Adriatic Sea covered in Arab blood. 5-27
Trebizond is on the north Turkish coast, on the Black Sea. 'Adrie', if the Adriatic Sea, is between Greece and Italy, so again pointing towards Middle East conflict spreading into this region.
The great Arab will march well before
Will be betrayed by the Byzantines
Ancient Rhodes will come before him
The greater harm by other Hungarians. 5-47
In the boat people prophecies, the Hungarians are a generic for the eastern Europe area of the European Union and the Isle of Rhodes is used in the context of refugee flight. This compares with the following quatrain 5-48:
After the great affliction of the sceptre
Two enemies defeated by them
African fleet to Hungary will come forth
By sea and land will be horrible deeds. 5-48
The African fleet to Hungary, is comparable with 5-13 noted in my companion blog 'The boat people in the Prophecies of Nostradamus'. 'Horrible deeds' are indeed occurring 'By sea and land'.
In the fortunate Arab country
Will be born the power of the Mahommedan law
To trouble Spain and conquer Granada
And more by sea the Ligurian Sea. 5-55
Granada is in southern Spain, so whether these words apply to a military invasion, or one from refugees, is as yet unclear. There has been some terrorist attacks in this area but the words 'conquer Granada' imply something more invasive. The 'Ligurian Sea'is mentioned in other boat people quatrains in my companion blog 'The boat people in the Prophecies of Nostradamus'. Presumably, 'the Mahommedan law' refers to Sharia Law, which is a fundamental tenet of Islamic State.
When those of the northern pole unite together
The east will be in great fear and dread
A new one elected, sustained the great tremble
Rhodes, Byzantium, stained with barbarian blood. 6-21
Yet again, he emphasises how Rhodes and Constantinople (Byzantium) in Turkey, will be attacked. A number of quatrains refer to similar events; 3-64, 4-39, 5-25, 5-27, 5-47, 5-54, 5-86, 6-55, some of which are featured in this series of blogs. The 'northern pole' refers to Nato and the E.U., which has shielded Europe through unity since World War Two. Meanwhile, the East is indeed 'in great fear and dread'.
Between two rivers and then shut up
Casks and barrels joined to cross beyond
Eight bridges broken, their chief run through
Perfect children are slit by the throat. 8-53
The last line is clearly redolent of the terrible child massacres by Islamic State. 'Between two rivers' is a phrase exactly translates Mesopotamia, the ancient name of Iraq. The 'casks and barrels' is perhaps 16th century terminology for modern temporary bridges, akin to floating pontoons. The blowing up of bridges in this dangerous region is a distinct possibility.
