In a companion blog entitled 'The boat people in the Prophecies of Nostradamus', no less than 7 quatrains could, with reasonable certainty, be said to prophesy the current Libyan boat people crisis. Another 7 quatrains, outlined below, may also refer to the same crisis.
Tours, Orleans, Blois, Angers, Reims et Nantes,
Cities troubled by sudden change
By foreign people tents will be pitched,
Rivers, dards rone, land and sea trembling. 1-20
This may refer to these cities being subject to many refugees, like the current 18,000 at Calais who have indeed 'pitched' their tents. Its feasible that the 'darts rones', is a reference to drones, especially as dards means darts. The 'land and sea trembling' would therefore be, the explosions of these missiles hitting their target. This can be directly compared with the next quatrain:
The fleet is wrecked near the Adriatic waves
The earth trembles pushed into the air and in earth put
Egypt trembles; Mahometan increase
The herald is sent out to call for surrender. 2-86
The 2nd line describes the missile (drone) explosion forcing the earth into the air and back down again. The 'fleet' of the boat people, is indeed 'wrecked near the Adriatic (Sea) waves'. (It is interesting that Islamic State have taken over Palmyra in Syria, which in Roman times was called Adrianopolis which might be a cross reference to Hadrie and similar in his Prophecies.) It appears that the last two lines reveal a future problem for Egypt with the rise of Islamic State and even the surrender of the country. Given the antipathy of the present Egyptian regime to the Muslim brotherhood, then this might come true.
After the great affliction of the sceptre
Two enemies by them will be defeated
African fleet to the Hungarians will come forth
By sea and earth will be dreadful deeds. 5-48
If the African fleet' is the boat people, then the reference to Hungary repeats that of 5-13, noted in my companion blog on the more definite references to the boat people in the Prophecies of Nostradamus, where people of Libya are chased from Hungary to Gibraltar. If 'the great affliction of the sceptre' is the oppressive regime of President Assad in Syria and Saddam Hussein in Iraq, then the two enemies may be defeated by Islamic State in both countries with the 'dreadful deeds' fully apparent.
The previous quatrain, 5-47, is probably related to the above:
The great Arab will march well to the fore
Will be betrayed by the Bizantines
The ancient Rhodes will come forward to meet him
And greater harm through the other Hungarians. 5-47
The mention of Rhodes is interesting, because the Greek Islands are overwhelmed with refugees and presumably Byzantium (Constantinople) in Turkey, has its fair share of foreign migrants as well. However, this is speculation and may not relate to 'The great Arab'.
Into Hungary through Bohemia, Navarre
And by the banner feigned sedition
The fleurs de lys countries carrying the bar
Against Orleans wiill be emotions 5-89
Here he names Hungary as 'Hongrie' rather than Pannonia and the connection with France may be historic or it may relate to future events in the migrant crisis. The reference to the bar is interesting because in 5-13 (Cf. The Boat People from Libya in the Prophecies of Nostradamus) he has 'Depuis Pannons jusques Hercules la hare' From Hungary to the pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) where 'hare' should perhaps be read 'bare' meaning column or pillar. This was in the context of the problems causing dissension in the EU and Hungary taking its own course at odds with other member states.
In the Cyclades, in Perinthus and Larissa
In Sparta and all of the Peleponesse
A very great famine, plague through false dust
It will last nine months in all the peninsula 5-90
These tragic events are certainly on the cards, as tens of thousands of migrants crowding into the Greek Islands including the Cyclades, have spilt out into Greece and the Balkans. Because so many of them cannot now go further north, the problems of disease and famine could become paramount in the temporary camps that they are establishing. Perhaps as winter approaches, some will refuge in the Peloponesse in the far south of Greece to escape the bitter cold of the Balkans ?
In the fortunate Arabian country
Will be born one powerful in the law of Mahomet
Will trouble Spain and conquer Granada
And more of the sea to the Ligurian people. 5-55
Granada is in the south of Spain where immigration may well become an issue and another more certain boat people quatrain in my companion blog on this subject; 4-68, also refers to the 'Ligurian' Sea. Perhaps the first two lines are about Osama Bin Laden, who was indeed from Arabia, but it may also be a prophesy that hasn't occurred yet.
